I attended the 2010 Social Media Conference NW yesterday and learned a ton about this fast paced world of Social Media. One of the break-out sessions I attended was, Ethan Yarbrough’s discussion around blogging. He is the President and Co-Founder of Allyis, Inc. He shared some great tips that I thought I’d pass along to you in a few new blogs.
First off, why should you blog? Look at it as a sample of your company, product or service. Similar to See’s Candies, you get a chocolate sample every time you go into the store. Blogs allow you to give samples out to your customers and give them a taste of what your company is all about.
It shows your readers 1) How you do business 2) What you read and research 3) What your philosophies are, etc. Basically you’re giving them the chance to experience you.
Your blog will allow you to:
1) Build awareness
2) Drive sales
3) Grow loyalty
You can use your blog as a framing device for your products or services and can talk about what’s important to you. By shaping the imagination of your readers, you’ll connect with them and build loyalty.
I’ll share more about what to blog about in a new post.
